Nekada je Jovan Cvijić tvrdio da se geografija, između ostalog, uči i nogama. To nam je polazna osnova za razmišljanje o svijetu u kojem živimo, o kojem gradimo svoje predstave i pokušavamo da ga razumijemo. Tu nam pomaže i geografija, koja proučava interakciju prirode i društva, istražuje prostor i mjesto, a pokušava i da odgovori na pitanja o vidljivoj transformaciji kulturnih pejzaža.
